Renting is the right call when you're starting out or testing whether delivery work suits you. Once it's your daily job, buying starts to win. On the Pro plan at 150 €/month, a 999 € bike pays for itself in around seven months, and after that there are no more monthly payments.
The trade-off is real though. When you own it, servicing and repairs are on you, whereas a rental plan bundles them into the monthly price. The full comparison, with the crossover chart, is in that article.
Every used bike Zoomo sells goes through a full workshop inspection first: degreased and cleaned, wear parts like brake pads swapped for new ones, and every electrical component tested. Cover after purchase depends on the component:

Manufacturing defects are covered, normal wear isn't. Chains, cassettes, spokes and brake pads count as wear parts. The warranty applies to the original owner with proof of purchase, and claims go through the store you bought from.
One thing worth knowing before you decide: GPS tracking and the bike recovery service are offered on new bikes only, not on refurbished ones.

On a bike at 999 €, that works out to roughly 250 € at the till and three equal payments over the following months.
Two things to know before you count on it. Alma covers purchases between 50 € and 2 500 €, so every bike in the range qualifies. And Alma runs its own check: approval is near-instant, but it is an approval, and a refusal can cancel the order. Payments are secured with 3D Secure.
Lease-to-own spreads the cost over a year: 330 € up front, then 130 € a month for 11 months, and the bike is yours at the end of the contract for 100 €. And if you already rent a Zoomo you get on with, you can buy that specific bike.
There is no national bike grant any more
France scrapped the national bonus in February 2025. What's left are local schemes run by regions and metropolitan authorities, and the amount depends entirely on where you live and what you earn.
In Île-de-France, the regional grant has no income condition for standard e-bikes and refurbished bikes are eligible. In the Lyon area, the grant is income-based and the purchase has to be made from a retailer inside the metropolitan territory, which the Lyon 3e store is.
